BAT Theatre’s Mission

We welcome and embrace our shared humanity through live theater. We question norms and thrive because of our diversity and energetic commitment to excellence.

Our History

Beginning in 1955 we began presenting community-based theater in what is now the City of Burien. Our shows have made people laugh, cry, think, and dream. In 1980, we decided to continue our goal of entertaining and educating by incorporating as a 501(c)(3) entity under the name Burien Little Theatre. In 2013, we changed our name to Burien Actors Theatre. In 2020, the City of Burien City Council voted to demolish the Annex, BAT's home of 40 years leaving BAT without a permanent home.

BAT headed to Zoom to produce 16 live plays each with multiple performances. As soon as possible, BAT headed back to the parks of South King County producing live in-person theater. In 2023 BAT returned to in-person indoor performances in the Little Theater at Kennedy Catholic High School.

Please join us as we feature shows guaranteed to captivate and put a smile on your face!
