Beginning – 2025

Beginning by David Eldridge

February 14 through March 9, 2025. PHOTOS from this romantic comedy.

In the U.S. premiere of this hit from London’s West End, it’s the early hours of the morning and Danny’s the last straggler at Laura’s housewarming party. The flat’s a mess, and so are they. One more drink? A funny, astute, poignant two-hander that takes an intimate look at being forty-ish and single—and those first fragile moments of risking your heart.

“This intimate story of two strangers navigating the hurdles of a budding friendship while carrying the baggage of their respective pasts and dealing with ulterior motives is about taking risks, and the courage to lay yourself bare to someone new in order to establish trust. Performed beautifully by Lucy Pearce and Gerald Germajesty Price, the Burien Actors Theatre production of Beginning will draw you into this pair’s story, and make you fall in love with them, as much as you hope they fall in love with each other.”

The Sound on Stage

“Happily, Pearce and Price’s dynamic was natural, joyful, and completely believable, carrying the audience from magnetic flirtation to the taunt expectation of sexual tension, to the depths of insecurities and traumas and back again to peals of laughter and the joy of pure, human connection.”
