BAT is pleased to continue its tradition of awarding three $1,000.00 scholarships to high school students within the HighlineBat logo final color chuck School District.

One scholarship goes to a student at Kennedy Catholic High School, and the other two to students in the Highline School system.

Awards are based on a demonstrated love of theater and arts.

Award

Two scholarships will be awarded to students in the Highline District who are striving to obtain a degree or pursue a career in theater or performance in the amount of $1,000.

Eligibility

1. Applicants must be full-time students at the High School Level.

2. Applicants must be interested in theater or arts.

3. Applicants must be current residents of King County, and be attending a Public High School located within the Highline School District.

Application Requirements

To be considered for a BAT Scholarship Award, applicants must complete an application - this application - and return it to BAT by June 15, 2019. The application must include:

1.   A completed application form - download here. Only completed application forms will be considered.

2.   An unofficial high school transcript, including GPA.
3.   A resume.
4.  One letter of recommendation.

All of the above items must be submitted before the application will be considered.

Minor recipients will also be required to have the recipient’s parent(s) or guardian sign a release and hold harmless allowing Burien Actors Theatre the right to use photographic images of the recipient in Burien Actors Theatre’s marketing and grant applications.

Dave Upthegrove is an ardent supporter of the arts and Burien students, and he is a friend to BAT. Here, Council Member Upthegrove is providing funding for the second year of BAT’s high school scholarships for students interested in the arts.
