BAT's 38th Season: 2017-18

"Ben Butler" by Richard Strand, a comedy-historical drama butler web smaller

Sept. 29, 2017 through Oct. 22, 2017

Friday, Saturday at 8 pm, and Sunday matinees at 2 pm

Two quick-witted men, one black and one white, and their innate stubbornness radically change the course of U.S. history and the purpose of the North’s cause. This look at a key decision in the Civil War is part comedy, part historical drama and part biography, often all at once, and sometimes none of those. A simultaneously thought-provoking and sidesplitting story of equality and the politics of race in America. Northwest premiere.

"Church & State" by Jason Odell Williams, a fast-paced dramedy

Apr. 27, 2018 through May 20, 2018

Friday, Saturday at 8 pm, and Sunday matinees at 2 pm

It’s three days before Charles Whitmore’s Senate re-election and he’s decided to finally tell the public exactly what’s on his mind, no filter. What could possibly go wrong, particularly when faith, politics, gun control and 'The Twitter’ mix it up? Northwest premiere!

"And whether, or not, you agree with the author’s point of view, the journey, the drama, and emotional and psychological process which takes the characters to the conclusion is well worth the time taken to see the play. In a time where there is so much division, and so much shared tragedy, this play addresses those concerns and is also very entertaining. -- B-Town Blog, full review HERE

"Church and State is as intelligent as it is funny and tragic. It is thought-provoking and only takes itself serious enough to make a point. I highly recommend it. -- Burien Culture Hub, full review HERE
